Port Credit Yacht Club is located at 115 Lakefront Promenade, Mississauga, ON, L5E 3G6 .
GPS Coordinates are N 43°33.7832′ W 79°33.3554
The simplest way to get here is to find your way to the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) in Mississauga and turn down Cawthra Road south. When you reach Lakeshore Road turn left (east), over to Lake Promenade (the second set of stop lights) and turn south towards PCYC.
Google Maps is shown below:

Please use the front entrance to the club. The rear entrance will likely be filled with boats for the winter.
Arrival
Starting Saturday September 26th until Wednesday, from 0900 to 1700, a volunteer will be stationed in the parking lot who will assist you when you arrive. They will guide you to where the boats are to be stationed and where you can park your car. The boats will need to remain on their trailers and in their spot until it’s time to launch. More on launching later.
Club parking is reduced during haul-out and you will be asked to drop off your boat, unpack and then park your car in the municipal parking lot just outside the club in the ‘Competitor Parking Lot’ shown in the diagram below. There is a gate with a combination lock at the south end of the club that connects the competitor parking lot to the club facilities. This allows you to move freely between your car and the club without having to come through the front gate each time. The parking volunteer will provide you with the combination for the gate.
For those of you who wish to bring a “hotel boat” (Float-el) to the club to billet the crew, slips will be available at standard rates. Please contact the Harbourmaster directly to make arrangements.
Pre-Race Administration and Check-in
Starting Wednesday, September 30th at 0900 the Registration Desk will open in the Lakeshore Room in the club house. A team of volunteers will be there to walk you through the remaining tasks before you are truly Checked-In and Registered. Remember, until you get your bow numbers, you aren’t checked in. The check-list document will be available on YachtScoring under ‘Race Documents’. Please print this off before starting the check-in process. While a number of documents can be submitted electronically, we will still need to physically validate a number of things. You will be asked to:
- Provide your J24 Class membership
- Provide a class approved measurement certificate for the boat
- Show the sail maker’s compliance stamp on each sail to be used
- Show your insurance policy is valid and of the required level of coverage
- Weigh-in your crew
- Provide the measurement compliance initialed by the chief measurer
- Provide the list of ‘optional’ on your boat
Note this list is a reminder and NOT the official list, the official list is on YachtScoring.
Once the registration desk confirms all the on-line documents have been received, fees have been paid and the check-list is complete, you will receive your bow number. Congratulations … let’s go race!
Mast-up and Launch
While the club has a mast crane, it interferes with the two launch cranes for the J24s. It will not be available for use. Please bring with you the necessary gin-poles and rigging to put up your own mast.
Launching the J24 can be done at either one of the two launch cranes where there is enough room around them to avoid interference and can be used simultaneously. In preparation for launch we will have sprayed an arc on the gravel where the crane clip swings. When maneuvering your trailer for launch try to get the keel right over the arc for a stress-free lift.
Dollies will be available to muscle your boat around the flat part of the dry sail area near the cranes. Given the number of boats, and the downhill grade, we will be asking the Harbour Staff to bring your boat down from its dry-dock area to the cranes. When you are ready, a volunteer will be there with a radio who will ask Harbour to bring the boat down using a forklift or a truck. We won’t be allowing competitors to bring their own boat down using the dollies, we have had instances of run-away boats and it isn’t pretty.
Each boat is responsible for its own lifting strap and stability harness.
After launch, please move out of the area as quickly as you can to allow the next competitor to get in the water. Harbour staff will then move the trailers to their designated storage area for the duration of the regatta. Note: you will have bow numbers for both the boat and the trailer. Make sure you put the appropriate bow number on the trailer so we can retrieve it at the end of the regatta.
As mentioned in the Notice of Race, the first 10 boats to register as an ‘early-bird’ will be allocated to a slip near the rafting area. Exactly which slip won’t be known until the week of the regatta but the volunteer managing launch will have that detail.
Haul Out
Haul out will begin immediately after racing completes Sunday on a strict first-come-first-serve basis. Harbour staff will have moved all the trailers closer to the dry-sail crane area for easy access.
Once ready to haul out, come by the crane and a volunteer will either guide you to the free crane or let you know where you stand in the queue. The competitor will be responsible for lifting the boat onto their trailer. After the boat is safely on the trailer, Harbour staff will pull the boat to an area where you can hitch it to your car. Vehicles will be actively discouraged from entering the crane area.
Finally, the dry-sail crane area is not paved, so washing your boat there is not allowed.
